Joe began demo on the bathroom.
I helped with the clean-up.
As revealed in a previous post, the bathroom walls are covered in vintage wall paper. I love the pattern – and the border at the top.

A couple weeks ago, a neighbor explained how they applied this type of paper. First, they would hang the horizontal wood boards. Next, they used tiny nails to affix a light fabric (which resembles a loosely woven linen) to the wood. Then, they would throw water on the fabric causing it to tighten and become smoother and more uniform. The last step is to apply the paper. I’m amazed the paper is in such good shape. I’m guessing the drywall has protected it for at least 50 years, or maybe longer.
